rFactor 2
« on: Thursday, 15. October 2015, 07:42:04 »
Just for the old days:

I got an Email from Tim Wheatley:

---------------
It's time.

As an rFactor user, you're being sent a one-time email inviting you to purchase our latest racing simulation at a special price...

40% off rFactor 2 Standard or Lifetime
Use PROMO CODE "40OCT15" (without quotes) on our purchase site.

Already own rFactor 2 Standard version?
10% off multiplayer renewals via this link. Promo code "10RENEW".

Both Promo Codes will expire 23:59 EDT on 10/18/2015.
-------------------

I´ve bought it now with life time subscription. This has of course NO effect for NRE, i did it for the old days and it is my private part of supporting ISI. I really don´t want that this bunch of nice guys have to close their business...

I'll also purchase a lifetime subscription for rF2. 38.99€ is a good price, I think.

The lifetime subscription will be carried over to Steam before end of this year so that it uses their update mechanism
The one year subscription will not be carried over to Steam.

I tested it a few minutes yesterday and i now understand why this isn´t a success:

1. Awful Interface, low-res, terrible layout compared to Assetto Corsa
2. Ingame Cockpit view for the Nissan GTR looks like Arcade, the Nissan got a very cool sound anyway.
3. Testing it without HDR and it looks like rF1 for me.

+ My Fanatec CSR is supported native and the gears show up in the wheels display. Cool gimmick.

What a pity when i thought which hopes the community had prior to the release.

1 of the biggest points for me. Physics were ok more or less but meanwhile AC (and even PC) are giving a more realistic and not so ultrareactive feeling of the car.

If i switch from rF to AC and back you can directly feel, HOW overactive cars in rF(2) are to handle.

AC is not THE ultimate simulation, but gives a more "real" feeling.

TM i think rf2 has no chancce against AC, iR, PC and even the Raceroom adaption

You can now transfer your rf2 lifetime license to steam:

https://commerce.rfactor.net/steam-transfer-form

Just to note: You will loose your regular subscription with that.
