tracks for season 2016/17
« on: Sunday, 26. June 2016, 12:37:12 »
Hi guys,

we should start talking about the tracks for the next season.

I think we agree about the quality of the tracks. Beside the original ones we may use 3rd party scratch made and converted tracks of good quality.

My thoughts:

Out of the available Italian tracks Monza, Imola, Magione, Mugello and Vallelunga we have to pick not more than 2 choices (if not one at all).
We should race at 1 or 2 german tracks, Nurburgring GP and probably Hockenheim again.
Classics like Spa, Zandvoort, Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Barcelona should be there as well. Maybe only on Britain based track.
One race in Austria, at the upcoming original Red Bull ring.
The final at Paul Ricard deserve a follow up.

10-11 races count so far.

We may do 2-3 races outside of Europe this season. 1 in Northern America, 1 in Asia and probably 1 in South America.

I'm in favor that we my do our final again with 2 races at the same track, but in different configurations of this track. And our short races could last a bit longer, ~ 40min. So w could have short races with ~ 40min, Regular ones with ~ 70min and the 2 Endurance races per season could last also a bit more to deserve this naming: max. 120 min.

We may expand our schedule a bit: 14 instead of 12 races.

Please share your thoughts as well.

I think Monza has to be a track we race at.

How about Poland? :)

Thinking on adding those 2-3 tracks that left to fulfill the season, we should focus on quality (realism, perfection but also performance).

Just did 2 laps at Poznan. Although i think that it doesn´t fit my taste it would be a good track to race at. Very smooth to drive, almost like a moto track. It misses a bit of character anyway. Definately a candidate.

Also did 2 laps at the conversion v 3.4 of Road America. It is the quite opposite of Poznan. Lots of character, but in some points poor conversion (skid marks). I´m not sure about it. Personally i love Road Atlanta, but this conversion has still errors.

Nope... my initial thought when I saw this thread was Poznan cause I knew the track quality is good. I drove it and... it's boring as f*ck. No more "YES" to Poland in this case ;)

First candidate for the Italian Race is Mugello (AC origin track). Although i love Monza, we should be a bit more off the beaten tracks.

First candidate for the asian race is Sentul:

First candidate for the North American Race is Road America:

All modded tracks have to be tested at errors...

South American tracks are rare... any ideas?

I really prefer Poznan and Valelunga for the schedule. Why?
- Poznan is a really good track for racing and not shown so often in League races
- Valelunga is the more competetive track for real racing instead Mugello. Mugello is a great Track for MotoGP but for GT Races...Don´t know. Mugello is a track for "cruisers" with a very smooth flow not for racers with ambitions to attack an other driver

2017 NRE Porsche Racing Cup / 2016 infected by real ife and a little bit NRE GT3 Masters/ 2015 NRE GT3 Masters 2nd Place / 2014 NRE GT3 Masters 8th Place / 2013 NRE GT3 Masters McLaren GT3 3rd Place / 2012 NRE GT3 World Tour 2nd Place / 2011 NRE ILWS 2nd Place / 2009 & 2010 NRE ILWS Champion / 2008 NRE Champcar Challenge / 2003-2007 46 GNC Starts

I am open for Vallelunga as well. I know about the lack of hard braking points in Mugello. Although the track is wide enough to attack in Moto-Style (taking different line and hope you can hold the line in the next corner) it would be a bit different... ;)

About Poznan: The track is really very flat, very less orientation points. Not sure if all of us will be fascinated.

Tomorrow i will get my new wheel, many testing hours are waiting. :)

Here are the tracks in the correct order, exact dates will follow. I have to note, that the races will last longer than last year - Sprint Races 2x ~40 min, Regular Races ~75 min, Endurance Races 120 min. The Points for Sprint and Regular Races will be handled like last year, the 2 Endurance Races will offer DOUBLE Points.

Zandvoort 2x 40 min
Brands Hatch GP 75 min
Spa 120 min
Spielberg 2x 40 min
Nürburgring 75 min
Barcelona 2x 40 min
Sentul 2x 40 min
Laguna Seca 75 min
Barbagallo 2x 40 min
Vallelunga 75 min
Tor Poznan 2x 40 min
Le Castellet 120 min

Exact Dates will follow.
