2x 30 min (~16 laps each).
Rank 1-8 will be reversed for race 2 - race 2 will follow immediately after race 1.

How to setup the Cup Porsche for Barcelona
« Reply #1 on: Saturday, 09. September 2017, 10:10:30 »
Hi,

first of all: I will not post exact values, this work has to be done by the drivers to fit the car to his driving style.

  • Forget the default setup, it´s not a good point to start. Instead try one of the setups posted at the setupmarket. You should have the app installed if you use our Simsync tool. Hint: The track is named as Circuit de Catalunya.
  • Since we can´t influence Gearbox, differential lock, tires, springs and dampers there isn´t much left ;). In general, the porsche likes hard ARB's - Anti Roll Bars (Stabilisatoren). So balance the car with raising instead of lowering them.
  • Toe in/out (Spur) influences the Porsche more than in other cars. Check it concerning cornering behaviour.
  • Since we got hard ARB's, lowering the camber (Sturz) gives you more grip. The front camber may be half the rear ones. Check it out.
  • Tire pressure goal is 26°C. The right front tire may stay cold.
  • Last but not least: Braking. Start with the lowest braking pressure available. Then play with the braking balance. Adapt your braking style, you have to release the brakes slightly when the car has been slown down to a certain speed. This braking style, brake pressure and balance should help you brake properly.
  • Just recovered, thanks Harald: Check your braking gamma in your AC controller settings. Try total linear = 1.

Have fun!

It´s reilly reilly weird: AGAIN Kunos will release an update right before we race: The Ferrari Anniversary pack is announced together with Patch 1.15 for the upcoming Tuesday, ONE day before we kick off our Porsche Season.

It has been happen THAT often in the past, absolutely weird...

But then it's only and updating on Tuesday :)
Will my car arrive soon in Simsync?
Why are not my times registered on server?

Hi Oyvind, I will check the case with tha car afterwards.

First we have to investigate, why your lap are not displayed as valid laps. It seems your ptracker is not running when you´re racing at our server.

Please check:

You synced with Simsync? This is the first step: Menu Drivers Briefing/NetracingEurope Guidelines/Simsync - shortcut

You activated the ptracker app Ingame? Look at the images how to do this. At the end you should have a window in your cockpit (when driving) like the one in picture 4.

Your desired car has been assigned to your Steam GUID. This should work.

BTW: Your desired car is already placed in Simsync. I added it earlier today to the entry list of our server, so it should be assigned when join the server the next time.

My God
Wolfgang: these tips are epic mate!!
I knocked of 3 tenths in no time after following your guidelines
Still a sobering thought: After all these laps I was way off with my setup, again...   :wall:

You often read these setuprequests online and they get like this random nonsense answer like 'practise is key'
but this, sir, is some very good intel.
I learned a lot reading this post.
One question: Why these high ARBvalues?

To lock down the weight transfer.  This is important the faster the corner is. In slower corners like in s3 you struggle a bit because of this, but the gain in s1 and s2 is worth it. To be honest, I discovered this by inspecting the setups at Thesetupmarket...

If I would have made this in the 488GT3, the car would have been undriveable. But with the engine behind the rear axle everything is different in the Porsche. What I miss the most are differential settings. This would help against the power oversteering, but anyway - it makes the Porsche a Fun to drive.

greets, Wolfgang

P.S.: Nice to hear that i make my hardest competitors faster - again ;)

Tim and Frans, you are endurance monsters  :shok:

275 and 140 valid laps! Where´s Ronald (Fuchs)? So far he has been that practice monster ;)

I must also test this, do not come below 1.53.6 :)
Yes, I'm using simsync and have everything installed
Yes, # 15 skin is there, but I thought you talked about having another skin for and driving with Matthias?

Oh, understand now. I haven´t gotten it so far. But from what I heard is that Matthias got busy in RL these days, so maybe this will not happen. Please get in touch to clear up the team situation. You know, Matthias originally is a Badass member, but switched to the new team "BALMS" (what the hell does this mean? ) concerning real life matters.

About laptimes: The most important thing with the Porsche is braking (since we got no ABS). Lower front camber helps avoiding too much locking the brakes. And brake pressure. And braking balance. And a sensitive foot ;)

Tip: move the braking balance back, values between 55° and 60° are ok. You have to take care a bit when braking during a turn, but this isn´t needed much often in Barcelona.

Please @ all: Do a sync, there have been changes at Baddass/Balms/Carbon Racing. And I made some minor changes at all custom cars as well (windscreen banner, sponsor plate, livery). Thanks!

I added some psd files at my carskin, feel free to use them!
